Slayer Steam EP 2 Group Volumetric Espresso Machine

The Slayer Steam EP 2 Group is a professional commercial espresso machine designed for specialty coffee shops, busy cafes, and high-volume coffee service. It combines two genuine saturated group heads, independent brew boilers, and a separate steam boiler to deliver excellent temperature stability and consistent espresso extraction throughout the day. Unlike the manual Slayer Steam LP, the Steam EP features programmable volumetric dosing, allowing baristas to prepare repeatable espresso shots with the push of a button.

Its programmable Pre-Wet function allows a 0-4 second puck soaking phase before full extraction pressure is applied, helping reduce channeling and improve shot consistency. With independent PID temperature control, electronic grouphead valves, and a centralized barista dashboard, the Slayer Steam EP 2 Group is built for cafes that value reliable performance, efficient workflow, and consistent coffee quality across every shift.

Slayer Steam EP 2 Group Volumetric Espresso Machine

Key Features

  • Dual Saturated Groups
  • Independent PID Boilers
  • Programmable Volumetric Dosing
  • Adjustable 0-4s Pre-Wet
  • Professional Commercial Design

Independent Brew Boilers and Temperature Control

The Slayer Steam EP features two independent 1.7-liter stainless steel brew boilers, with a dedicated boiler for each group head. This dual-boiler configuration provides excellent temperature stability and allows each group to maintain consistent brewing conditions during busy service. PID temperature control allows precise adjustments in 0.1-degree increments, giving coffee professionals greater control over their brewing temperature.

Programmable Volumetric Dosing and Pre-Wet

Designed for consistent espresso preparation, the Steam EP offers two volumetric settings per group, allowing baristas to program automated shot volumes for repeatable results. Each group features two button actuators with two settings per button, providing convenient access to programmed extraction settings.

The programmable Pre-Wet function allows a 0-4 second soaking phase before full extraction pressure, helping saturate the coffee puck and reduce channeling. This gives cafes greater control over extraction while maintaining consistent results between different baristas.

Professional Steam System and Electronic Controls

The separate 7.4-liter stainless steel steam boiler provides reliable steam capacity for preparing milk-based espresso drinks during high-volume service. Electronic steam valves offer reliable operation with less maintenance compared to traditional mechanical valves.

The machine also includes a hot water tap with a mixing valve and programmable hot water dosing. Additional functions include automatic shot timers, brew temperature monitoring, shot counters, automatic shot lights, and quick-clean and full-clean programs. The optional 2-second auto-purge function helps flush the group between extractions.

Designed for Busy Specialty Coffee Shops

The Slayer Steam EP 2 Group combines professional performance with a practical, barista-friendly design. Its large drip tray provides additional workspace, while the low-profile design makes it easier for baristas to interact with customers across the counter.

The cantilevered side wings help conceal power and drain connections, creating a clean installation. The centralized barista dashboard makes it easy to operate, program, and adjust machine settings, while the external rotary pump provides reliable water pressure for commercial espresso preparation.

With two independent brew boilers, programmable volumetric extraction, and a dedicated steam boiler, the Slayer Steam EP 2 Group is an excellent choice for established cafes looking to improve workflow and deliver consistent espresso quality throughout the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Slayer Steam EP 2 Group need a permanent water connection?

Yes. The Steam EP 2 Group requires a hard-plumbed water supply and uses an external rotary pump. This is a commercial installation, not the reservoir-fed setup of the Steam Single Group. Have your installer check the water, drainage and electrical connections before the machine arrives.

Does each group have its own brew boiler?

Yes. Each of the two saturated groups has its own 1.7 L stainless steel brew boiler, alongside a separate 7.4 L steam boiler. Independent PID temperature control allows adjustments in 0.1°C steps, giving you control over brewing temperature at each group while keeping steam production separate.

How does the Steam EP’s programmable dosing help during service?

You can program shot volumes and recall them using the group buttons, rather than manually stopping every extraction. That makes it easier for different baristas to follow the same recipe during a busy shift. Automatic shot timers, shot counters and brew temperature monitoring help you keep an eye on service.

Is Pre-Wet the same as variable pressure profiling?

No. Pre-Wet gives the coffee puck an adjustable 0–4 second soaking phase before full extraction pressure. It helps wet the grounds before the main shot, but the Steam EP does not offer variable pressure profiling. It’s designed around programmable volumetric extraction rather than manual pressure changes throughout the shot.

What does the Steam EP offer for milk drinks and cleaning?

The separate 7.4 L steam boiler and electronic steam valves support milk-drink service, while the hot water tap has a mixing valve and programmable dosing. For daily upkeep, the machine includes quick-clean and full-clean programs, plus an optional two-second auto-purge function to flush the group between extractions.

How much space and electrical power does the 2 Group need?

The machine measures 890 mm wide, 710 mm deep and 425 mm high, and weighs 100 kg. This version requires a 220–240 V, single-phase, 50/60 Hz supply; the listed electrical range is 21–23 A and 4.7–5.6 kW. Have a qualified installer confirm the supply and counter support, and leave space for connections and servicing.

What comes with the Slayer Steam EP 2 Group?

Along with the machine, you get two portafilters, two double coffee baskets, one blind cleaning insert, the external rotary pump and four rubber feet. The package also includes two attached power cords, two attached plumbing lines, two attached drain hoses, braided water hoses, a Quick Start Guide and the user manual. The machine uses 58 mm portafilters, with an 18 g basket capacity listed. Spouted and bottomless portafilters are listed as options, so check the supplied style with us if you have a preference. Your installer will still need to confirm any site-specific fittings and connections.
